About the School-Linked Partnership and Capacity Grant

Building Readiness for School-Linked Behavioral Health Services

The CYBHI School-Linked Partnership and Capacity Grant Program is part of California’s effort to strengthen access to behavioral health services for children and youth. The School-Linked Partnership and Capacity Grant provides one-time funding and implementation support to help all 58 county offices of education and the local educational agencies they serve get the people, partnerships, and systems in place to strengthen school-linked behavioral health services and keep them going over time. This grant program is funded by the Department of Healthcare Services (DHCS) and administered by the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) and the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE).

Mission

The Capacity Grant Team supports county offices of education (COEs) in building the infrastructure and capacity to meet the behavioral health needs of students in their schools and school districts. This work is guided by a commitment to increasing equity through changing existing systems, policies, and practices to ensure that all students have full and complete access to culturally and linguistically responsive behavioral health services.

Desired Outcomes

  • Increased capacity, infrastructure, and partnerships for ongoing school-linked behavioral health services for children and youth
  • Expanded access to behavioral health services in schools or school-linked settings
  • Collaborative infrastructure across local education agencies, managed care plans, county behavioral health departments, and community-based providers
